Vacation Bible School
Each summer children are invited to participate in a week long adventure.

VBS for June 2008 brought in 140 children from around the area! The theme for this year was "God's All-star Champions", where children learned how to train to win God's way!

June 2007 brought the largest VBS in Calvary's history with 111 children attending during the week.  "Water Works Park" had kids riding the wave of God's love and finding out about a personal relationship with Jesus.

In the Summer of 2006, we traveled on a quest for God's best.  "Quest for God's 10 Commandments" recruited kids to be "Time-Stone Travelers" looking through the ages to find God's top ten, and discover the most important truth of all.  The stops along the way included an ancient lab, a medieval castle, a Mayan jungle, an interesting village, and a mighty volcano.

In the Summer of 2005 we enjoyed riding on the "SOLAR EXPRESS: Empowered by the Son" Students in grades preschool through entering 6th grade heard of God's love and forgiveness through the Son, Jesus Christ.

Sunday School
Sunday School classes run from the first Sunday after Labor Day until the last Sunday before Memorial Day. Rally Day in September is the kickoff for the Sunday School year, and includes a potluck dinner at the church for all members and participating friends. A free will offering goes to cover the costs of Sunday School materials and expenses. The Sunday School is broken into many groups, including preschool through sixth grade, the 7th through 12th grade Youth Group, and the adult Sunday School.

On Safari Kid's Club

This program is for children, age 3 through grade 6, and is held Wednesday evenings, 6:45 PM to 8:00 PM, October through April. During this time the children sing songs, hear Bible stories, and have a craft to go along with the Bible story of that evening. The children are divided into classes according to their age so all activities are age-appropriate.

Junior Church
A special church service is provided each Sunday for children ages three through kindergarten. After the children's sermon is completed, children in this age group are invited to either remain in the regular church service or attend a junior church service located in the preschool room near the fellowship hall. In junior church the children will participate in a video, a Bible lesson, a craft, or any combination of these. This provides a religious educational experience structured toward their learning level, while parents can participate in the regular church service.

Nursery
Calvary Free Lutheran has a supervised nursery. Parents are invited to either leave their children in the nursery or visit the nursery with their children, if desired.

A Little Break

"A Little Break for the Shepherds Flock" is especially geared towards infants through pre-school, and is held every second Monday, 9:00-11:30 AM, October through May. Mothers are invited to bring their children, giving moms a "little break" to do shopping, appointments, napping. etc. During the two and a half hours the children are here they listen to Bible stories, sing songs, have a time of craft and a time of play, as well as a little snack. A well staffed nursery welcomes infants as well.  There is no charge for this service to our community.

Children's Library
A children's library is located in the fellowship area of the church. This library includes selected books and videos suitable for young children, and is well used by the families in the church and the Junior Church ministry.
